A descriptive framework for understanding why implementation succeeds or fails
Implementation has been studied for decades across numerous disciplines, yet the language used to describe implementation remains fragmented between sectors, limiting comparison, cumulative learning and methodological consistency.
The Implementation Intelligence Research Programme investigates implementation as an observable phenomenon in its own right. Beginning with evidence of recurring implementation patterns across multiple fields, the programme develops a shared descriptive vocabulary, foundational concepts and methodological foundations for implementation research.
By consolidating previously fragmented implementation terminology into a shared descriptive vocabulary, the programme establishes a common conceptual foundation for implementation research across sectors.
